Anyone doing construction work in Australia must complete general construction induction training, unit CPCWHS1001, and hold a white card.
NSW rules
SafeWork NSW requires the training to be face to face (or NSW-approved online delivery with identity checks). Online cards issued in other states are generally not accepted for NSW-issued cards. Providers on this site are on the national register for CPCWHS1001.
Cost and time
A white card course takes one day (about 6 hours). Advertised NSW prices range from around $30 to $500, with most around $120.
Does it expire?
No. It stays valid unless you have not done construction work for two consecutive years, in which case you need to redo the training.
